February 12, 2021, I got the email. My latest audiobook is published and now ready to reach people! D.J. Butler’s, “The Wilding Probate” is a fun book with characters that won me over right from the start.
The idea behind the “The Wilding Probate” is definitely unique. Bucky McCrae is a 16 year-old, living in a small town. She helps manage her father’s law practice, which is run out of the local bowling alley.
D.J. Butler has an engaging writing style. He infuses humour and depth into his characters. One can really begin to believe them and hear them. I love narrating this type of book since I can imagine the voices so clearly.
Before I start narrating, I always read the book from cover to cover. After all, I need to know who the good guys and bad guys are. But reading the book in its entirety provides me with more information than just the bare plot. Sometimes there are clues as to how the person speaks. Sometimes there are tricky words and sometimes, like here, the author makes you hum, whistle or sing!
As I read, I became more and more drawn into the world D.J. Butler created. Some of the twists and turns he created in “The Wilding Probate” left me speechless! I enjoyed reading the book very much and, as I read, I could already imagine how I was going to interpret certain characters and scenes.
This was a fun, quirky read. I was happy to see that D.J. Butler added that this was a “Bucky McCrae Adventure”, which gives me hope that we will not have seen the last of Bucky or her entourage of memorable characters. If you already have an Audible Account and would like to listen to the whole thing, for free, contact me and I can send you a promo code. It is also for sale on Amazon here. Happy listening!
